Dr. Alma Bujaj, DPT
Founder, ProWellPT
I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from New York Medical College, with a background in exercise science and extensive hands-on experience in movement, rehabilitation, and strength training. Before becoming a physical therapist, I worked as a personal trainer and as a physical therapy aide for years. Those experiences shaped how I understand movement, recovery, and long-term health.
For the past 3 years, I have practiced in an outpatient orthopedic setting, treating individuals with a wide range of conditions including back and neck pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, balance impairments, and mobility limitations. My experience across both fitness and clinical environments allows me to bridge the gap between rehabilitation and long-term strength.
I founded ProWellPT because I saw firsthand how traditional clinic models can limit personalized care. Overlapping schedules, time constraints, and insurance-driven systems often leave patients feeling rushed and unheard. I believe physical therapy should be focused, intentional, and centered around the individual.
My philosophy is simple: strength is medicine. Recovery does not end when pain decreases. It continues through building resilience, improving movement quality, and taking a proactive approach to long-term health.
As someone who has trained consistently for many years, I have experienced how transformative strength training can be, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. It has helped me navigate setbacks and reinforced my belief in how adaptable and resilient our bodies truly are.
Through ProWellPT, my goal is to provide thoughtful, one-on-one care that helps people move confidently, stay active, and build lasting strength beyond injury.
